Kevin Conroy Says There Won’t Be Another Arkham Game
Recently at a Wizard Comic Con in Nashville, long time Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy was asked about the possibility of there being future games from the Arkham franchise. He was not very optimistic on the prospect of there being a sequel to Rocksteady Studio’s Batman: Arkham Knight. One might think he’s simply throwing gamers off the trail, but he sounds truly flabbergasted that there are no plans to do another one.
In the video sent to us by Twitter user Matt Sifford, Kevin Conroy replies to the question of future Arkham games:
“You know, I can’t believe that they’re not gonna do another one, but they’re not. Isn’t that amazing?”
Rocksteady Studio had previously announced that Batman: Arkham Knight would be their third and final Batman game. They had expressed their desire to move away from the Dark Knight. Which surprises the veteran Batman voice actor.
“They made literally billions of dollars on those games, but uh no, there’s no plan to do another one. Sorry.”
While this is a blow to Arkham video game fans everywhere, this may lend credence to the rumor that WB Games Montreal is working on a follow up to their Batman: Arkham Originsgame. A game which featured a completely different voice cast than the Rocksteady games. Batman makes way too much money for WB ato put on the shelf.
Many had hoped that Rocksteady’s announcment was a ploy like when they said Arkham Knight was a new character. There had been old rumors of another game in development involving Batman, but this news seems to kill off any chance of that happening.
So this may indeed be it for Kevin Conroy as Batman in an Arkham game, but WB may not be done with the Arkham franchise just yet
