Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Demo Files Have Controller Configurations for Nintendo Switch
Configurations for Switch Pro and Joy-Con controllers have been found in the demo’s files.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 launches not long from now, giving fans the opportunity to jump back into a classic video game franchise through two remakes. Notably enough, it’s not releasing for the Nintendo Switch- however, it’s possible that a Switch version is in the pipeline and will be coming eventually.
Over on Twitter, @DarthBellic has discovered configurations for Switch controllers in the files of the remake’s recent demo. The fact that the game has configuration files for the Switch Pro Controller doesn’t necessarily have to mean anything, since the game will also be available on PC, where the Switch Pro Controller is natively supported on most platforms. However, interestingly enough, there’s also files for the Switch Joy-Con controllers, which lends greater credence to the assumption that the remake will be coming to the Switch (which isn’t that hard to believe in the first place, frankly).
Activison have yet to say anything about a possible Switch version for the game, so for now, take this with a grain of salt. But if they follow the same pattern as Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy – both of which eventually made their way to the Switch after launch – a Switch announcement of Tony Hawk might not be far away.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 launches for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4. Another recent datamine of the demo uncovered files mentioning possible hidden returning characters. Read more on that through here.
